Blind Faith

I am not a religious person; although I pray each night. I don’t attend church but have visited Notre Dame and St. Patrick’s cathedrals. For some reason my eyes are drawn like a magnet to the stained glass and architecture of these magnificent places. I often tear up as I try to absorb the beauty of it all.

I believe that heaven and hell are things we create ourselves. With the exception of illness and accidents; we steer our own paths. We can choose to learn and become resilient. We can take another turn and withdraw from life as it becomes unbearable. We can overcome and transcend in a heavenly manner. We can forget our light and become our darkest versions. Most of us dance somewhere between our best and worst selves. I will continue to say my prayers and keep the faith.
