Alcohol helps for a few hours. Something I wrote a few years back.

Tequila, martini; any drink without ice in it,

So I can forget the time and every single minute.

This drink of vodka in honor of your name,

Because ever since I met you; my life isn’t the same.

You’re not around but with your love my heart you stained,

I seek comfort in the bottom of a glass as I drown my pain.

A martini, I’m stressed and I want some relief,

Then, plain vodka, open a tab; I’m not ready to leave.

Last tequila; no limes, I want to feel the burn,

To kill you for a night this is the method that I’ve learned.

An open tab tonight; is all on me,

Nothing left after losing you, I have come to see.

Maybe the shots will kill the neurons in my brain,

And the tequila’s burn will just terminate the pain.

Perhaps it’s not the best way for my problems to set aside,

What can I do?

Loving you is like a roller coaster ride.

And yes, I know alcohol won’t erase the keloid scars,

Check, please! Maybe I should leave the bar.
