A song from a story I hope to write. Still working out the details, but so far it's from the perspective of a now-18-year-old boy. He lives in a town along a coast, and his childhood friend (the main character) is the granddaughter of a famous sea captain. She lives in a large house right along the water, where the two have many adventures. The boy is taken away by a currently undecided force, and the girl is called out onto the sea to find him. However, she finds that only her heart can show her the way to where he lies, and is fighting to return home.

I met you on a summer's day,

Blue eyes in a sea of grey.

Brown hair blowing in the wind,

Never knowing how your soul drew me in.

We became the best of friends

On the beach letting our hair blend.

Hand in hand among the blue waves,

Not thinking about our future days. (chorus)

Love arrived on gentle wings,

Bringing with it warm, new things.

As we grew older and bore new cares,

The love inside began to flare. (chorus)

Long gone are those summer days.

Blue skies are turning grey.

Look into your heart and you will find

That I am not so far away.

Oh, what a bittersweet goobye this is, my dear!

And oh, how I miss the times you were here!

I am the boy for you, you are the girl for me,

But now you've gone out to the sea to find me.
