Where are you?

You, the tantalizing mirage in the Saharan desert, and I, the weary traveller watching you fade before my eyes.

I will always be just one step away from reaching you.

Where are you?

You, the blinding brilliance of the burnished sun, and I, the subtle solace of the silvery moon.

I will always orbit around your radiance but never be able to bask in it.

Where are you?

You, the unrestrained freedom of the azure sky, and I, the solemn, searching sea.

I will always be the unforgiving horizon, the reason we are forever cleaved apart.

Where are you?

You, the bold plumage of the peacock, and I, the soft song of the nightingale.

I will always be hidden in your shadow.

Where are you?

You, the harsh beauty of a winter storm, and I, the gentle hesitance of early spring rain.

I will always be too delicate for you to hold safely.

Where are you?

You, the heady exuberance of unabashed laughter, and I, the hollow desperation of unheard screams.

I will always be the dark that comes before your dawn.

Where are you?

You, the fieriness of an untameable heart, and I, the steadiness of an unbreakable spirit.

I will always be the steel that tempers your flame.

Where are you?

You, the inexorable march of fate, and I, the breaker of tradition.

I will always be waiting for our paths to finally cross.

Where are you?

You, the fleet-footed Daphne, and I, the relentlessly chasing Apollo.

I will always be looking for a love that’s already lost.

Where are you?
