If I could, I'd take flight across the sea.
I'd go to places I never thought I'd be.
To see desert sands stretching before me.
Or nothing, but the ocean as far as I can see.
To be anywhere, but here.
There is so much fear,
Of what awaits me, Dear.
How I long to be near,
A high ocean cliffside.
To watch the majestic tide.
I feel the old me has died.
To you I shall confide,
A secret burning inside of me.
I long to cross the deepest sea.
To see a place I think I'll never be.
To be with one I think I'll never see.
I need to escape my own mind.
If only life could be kind.
Then maybe I could find,
The escape for which my soul has pined.
For now, it seems,
That I can only dream.
