Hidden away

In the darkest place I know

A box of emotions dwells

Why should I show everyone

What it is I feel

So they can simply drag me down once more

Perhaps I was not meant to be here

Why was I not born a stone?

Why must I carry the burden of a life

I wish I were a bird

To simply fly away

To run forever from the problems I have

But now it's too late

The cards have been dealt

And I am this living being barely fit for humanity

However I do love this box

For it gives me a reason to live

Hoping to show that someone one day

I hope they can see my life

See my mind and crazy thoughts

See beyond the scars that were created by this knife

My box

Filled with my emotions I hold dear

I hope shall not stay hidden, forever, in fear
