Look Both Ways

Submitted: June 26, 2017

David sat in his car waiting for the driving test examiner to arrive. His anxiety levels were approaching critical; the pressure was on, he could not afford to fail for the fourth time. Passing would mean a company car, plus a £20,000 per year salary increase, another failure would cast a long shadow over his future prospects with the company. He had to pass!

He closed his eyes and breathed deeply and tried to fill his mind with positive thoughts. His previous attempts had been sabotaged by his inability to control his anxiety. He realized if he won the internal battle with his nerves, he would probably pass his test.
There was a tap on the window.
David opened the door to a short, rather plump middle aged man with greying hair. He had a name tag and carried a clip board.

“Good morning, I’m Martin Granger, your driving test examiner today.”
They shook hands.

“The test will be 45 minutes long, we will be driving through Leyton and we will end up back here at the test centre, do you have any questions?”

David shook his head. His mouth felt dry.

The driving test examiner looked sidelong at David, smiled and lowered his voice to almost a whisper.

“If you jerk me off and give me £100, you won’t have to take your test, I’ll pass you.”

David instant reaction was to scream abuse at this pervert and push him out of his car, but he didn’t. He sat there staring straight ahead of him paralysed. The dilemma caused a huge lump to well up in his throat and robbed him of the power of speech.

“Make your mind up quickly or I will have to start the test!” The whisper became an urgent hiss.

David sighed and bowed his head; instinctively the examiner knew he had reached a decision.

“Money first and I want you to wear these rubber gloves, a small fetish of mine...”

David handed over the money, as he put on the yellow Marigold gloves tears of anger and humiliation rolled down his face.
------
The test examiner zipped up his flies looked across with a broad smile and said,
“Congratulations! You have just passed your driving test, I’ll be back in two minutes, I’m just going to get the pass forms from my car.”

The test examiner left the car.

David tilted his head back and closed his eyes, he was disgusted with himself he had engaged in a sexual act with a man to get his driving licence. Then like a bolt from the blue he realised, none of this was real he was in the middle of a bad dream, a nightmare. He felt an overwhelming sense of relief and he smiled.
He opened his eyes and his sense of relief disappeared like a puff of smoke, he still had on the rubber gloves. He tore the gloves off like they were on fire and threw them out the window.

There was a sharp tap on the window. Outside was a tall, middle aged Asian woman in a business suit, with a clip board and a name tag.

She gestured to David to roll down the window.
“Good morning my name is Javinder Singh, I am your Driving Test Examiner today.”
“I don’t understand, I have already seen the examiner...”

She bent down and showed David his name on her clipboard.

Then it dawned on him like a brick through a plate glass window, he had been scammed.

David started laughing, but it had a hysterical edge then he put his head in his hands and started sobbing.

“I’m not sure what the problem is but you’re not in the right frame of mind to take your driving test today.”
