I envy you and your sorrow; your tears are the finest jewels I’ve ever laid eyes on

How they sparkle, how they glisten, like drops of dew dripping off rose petals of the deepest velvet red

I envy you and your pain; your screams ignite my senses, jolt my passive heart, and solicit my ears, like a virgin melody of the purest notes blended together in a melting pot of agony

I pity you and your lust for joy, for cruel happiness, so unfaithful and fleeting

So forgettable and incomparably plain as opposed to fierce, passionate anguish

I pity you and your foolish longing for the glaring, unforgiving light

Even as darkness comforts you, consumes you, protects you from the blindingly bright world of happy hypocrites and smiling snakes

I adore you and your madness, your incompatibility with their reality

And I would keep you and your beauty forever trapped within disparity
