This poem is about trying to go the impossible lengths in order to fulfill someone's crazy expectations. Crazy thing is, as hard as you work, you never fill their expectations, and you end up feeling like you need to get someone's approval in order feel complete.

Impossible Things

I’ve been a juggler of impossible tasks;
The owner of different masks.
Climbed the Everest without a coat;
Navigated the moon on my sailing boat.

Took many photographs with just my eyes;
Sang a few songs before they were written.
Won Chess games against the old and wise;
Made it without a passport as far as Great Britain.

Won a gold medal without any training;
Wrote about love before I even knew what it was.
I catch the sunlight when it was pouring raining;
Took a bow before they even had the chance to applause.

Flew through the clouds without my wings;
Learned not to fear all the things I’m afraid of.
For you I do these impossible things,
But they were never truly enough.

I could do a thousand things right,
But you would always focus on the one thing wrong.
Never missing a chance to pick up a fight;
Making me feel like I never belonged.

Constantly trying to cut off my wings;
Tried to make me fear the things I’m afraid of.
Asking me to do all these impossible things,
When all I needed was your unconditional love.
