My ‘Summer night’;

What can I possibly write to you that I haven’t yet written before?

‘Summer night’;

You’re the rare gem I still feel I can’t afford.

You’ve given me so much and yet taken so much more,

Darling, you’re the one that I truly do adore.

You’re the mystery, the thrill—

A buried chest with a treasure,

And spending life with you is genuinely a pleasure.

There’s nothing left to say;

There are no words to spare,

But even to this day

My feelings I must share.

Never will I tire writing about you,

My heart’s only desire is showing you it’s true.

My faith is perpetual—my love is divine,

And you are to me the last of your kind.

You’ve loved me in all my skins—when I am dark, when I am bright,

When I couldn’t seem to bear the sight.

‘Summer night’, I swear; these words are full of truth,

Because you are encrypted and my heart belongs to you.

I need you to remember to keep my words engraved,

Your heart is my treasure that I’ll forever save.
