Underneath The Town

These hands they are just pushing me, we’re making our way down

to the tunnels that run everywhere, underneath the town.

Their grip is strong, their grip is sure as they show me where to go;

these invisible hands are not allowing me to just say no.

We’re going ever deeper and I’m on the verge of choking

when I find myself led straight before a skull that sits there smoking.

What am I supposed to do? It seems this head’s in charge;

I want to make a break for it but I do not just dare barge.

Those empty eye sockets face my way, deciding on my fate;

The invisible fingers digging in ensure that I will wait.

This skull, with it’s cigarette, is taking so much time;

I don’t know what I’m doing here, clueless of my crime.

The cigarette is burning out, I feel a cough is brewing,

this skull it is still staring out and on the filter chewing.

It’s voice is kind of rasping, how can it even speak?

It orders me to be locked up, for me it plans to keep.

So down beneath the streets of town I’m ever now to dwell

with a smoking addicted skull who’ll make my life a living hell!
