Some Kind of Difference

If it would make a difference, I might go back
I might right some wrongs and be forgiven for some things
If it could make a difference, I just might recant
A few misplaced words and spontaneous lies
If it would make a difference, I might re-live a few years
I might confront a few fears, and spare myself a few tears
If it could make a difference, I might regain a few ties
I might enforce a few bonds, and throw a few less things away
If it would make a big difference, I might rebuild myself
I might correct all my flaws, and erase my regrets and remorse
If it should make a small difference, I might not even bother
I might not change a thing, and be glad I’ve come so far
If it had made a difference, I’d be someone else today
But it really makes no difference, so what more can I say?
