A poem that I plan on turning into a song. I wrote it around the time of my great grandmother's death.

Drifting through an endless sea

No end in sight

The fireflies stay lit throughout the night

But nothing is quiet, in the sea

If I could I would leave, right?

When will it end?

I've been stuck here for so long

Maybe it's just a trend

For me to float like a log

Maybe I could absorb myself into the sound

But won't I still drift

Still just like a log.

Drifting through an endless sea

No end in sight

The fireflies stay lit throughout the night

But nothing is quiet, in the sea

If I could I would leave right?

Will a ship come by?

I'm just here as time floats on by

Maybe I take a chance

To fly off to land

Drifting through an endless sea

No end in sight

The fireflies stay lit throughout the night

But nothing is quiet, in the sea

If I could I would leave, right?

Or would I sink

Now that, would be a fright!
