Your club’s intervention did abash me;

it was a reflection of my shadow

that I was always too afraid to see

my demon’s face in a puddle below.

The bitter pangs of jealousy recede,

though not of distant pasts and of my name;

my inferiority I do accede

that I should be pained by regret and shame.

Jesus is Abaddon freeing Satan

from the purifying lake of fire,

forcing him out of the nest he ate in,

and inciting angels in the choir

to sing to the fair nephew of Neptune:

the one who inspires the perfect tune.
