TO A GIRL WHO LIVED IN THE CROWDED STREETS

There lived a girl, in the crowded streets.

day in and day out

she took upon her,

ever burning heats.

in the mornings, she'd wear the ribbons

and run aimlessly

through thorn studded wheats.

By the noon she'd hit the crowded road,

put down her heavy load,

and sets to sell those home made sweets.

While the sun sinks down,

she lifts up her gown,

never a frown,

never a frown on that

lovely forehead...

she lifts up her gown.. with the emptied load in hands

runs up the town.. never minding the sands

sands filled with all day's heat.. sands which were'nt

exactly neat..

she reaches home before midnight.. under the

moonlight, Atop the town so bright,

she'd eat what she could..

reflecting on the day and what she did..

how i wish..oh how i hopee !

she'll think of me oneday.. and smile !

just once..just once, while she eats,

that girl who lived in the crowded streets..
