So this project is going to be called "Bandit" for now.
The synopsis: A young detective and his partner discover a powerful crime ring that utilizes futuristic technology that threatens society. On his journey, he will experience hell and have a firsthand look at the true evil man is capable of.

This isn't my complete vision but the idea has been bouncing around my head for a long time. I need to create a lot more structure and ideas for what I want the whole novel to be. I want it to be somewhat Cyberpunk but not super futuristic. I want it to be an epic like Game of Thrones.

The sun was beating down hard. Jack had a ton of pain on the right side of his torso. There was no time to catch his breath. The gangsters were getting closer. After a quick pause, Jack ran from the shipping container he was behind to the wall of the abandoned building. The men split up, one running towards Jack and the other to the other side of the building to cut him off. Jack climbed the trash container and jumped over the metal fence. From the corner of his eye he saw the other man climbing the fence and begin running toward him. The man behind him grabbed onto his vest, but Jack quickly hit him in the temple with his right elbow. The man fell to the floor, but managed to reach his hand out toward Jack to trip him. Jack kicked the man in the forehead and quickly got up to begin running again. This abandoned lot was much longer. Jack pressed his finger to the small device in his ear and began to speak. “Hey, Sammy, head toward Duvall Avenue, it was a setup! One of them is still chasing me, he hit me in the side with a pipe.” he was running as fast as possible, each breath sending pain to his side. “Heading over now.” Sammy responded. Sammy began to drive towards Duvall Avenue. He scanned the buildings for Jack. Halfway through the block he saw an alley with a gate, and behind it, Jack was running in the distance with the gangster close behind him. Jack took a quick look back, the man was reaching for a knife in his jacket. “I’m going to fucking get you!” the man yelled as he aimed the knife and threw it towards Jack’s back. Jack managed to shift out of the way and continue running towards the gate. As he climbed the gate Sammy pulled out his pistol and shot the gangster in the face before he could climb the gate. Jack quickly got into car. “Woo, the fucker got me good!” Jack exclaimed, holding his side. “Where’s your gun?” Sammy asked, confused. “It’s here in the glove compartment. I forgot to bring it with me.” Jack chuckled, then hissed in pain. “And they didn’t have any guns?” Sammy asked, beginning to drive. “I managed to take them away and threw them towards some tall grass. Then the dead one picked up a pipe from the ground got me in the rib. Before the next blow I pushed them to the ground and ran towards an old shipping container.” Jack explained. “Alright, well we should go find the other one and get him to tell us where the warehouse is. Boon is gonna be pissed if we don’t get any info.” Sammy stopped at the a stop sign on the corner. “I’ve seen those two hanging around those nice apartments on Broadway Street. That little clothes store on the corner. Let’s go check it out tomorrow, I have to go put some ice on this shit.” Jack leaned back in the car seat and shut his eyes. Sammy glanced over and rolled his eyes.

“As you all know the fight with Dancy is getting more and more dangerous by the day. His drug ring is spreading like wildfire. The city of Bolton hasn’t seen a seen drug trafficking of this magnitude in over a decade. Dancy is getting increasingly dangerous. We need to stay vigilant. I want officers on each corner of this city. Detective Pearce and  Detective Hammond are searching for one of Dancy’s warehouses. Give them any support they need. Dismissed!” Chief Boon exited the room and headed for her office. She entered an elevator and went up to the third floor. The door to her office was open. She entered carefully and checked every corner of the room. She then walked over to her desk and noticed a folded piece of paper on the surface. She sat down and unfolded the paper. The note read, ‘Hi there Janelle. I’m Dancy. I left this note for you because I wanted to let you in on what’s going on. I’m in the middle of some very important negotiations. If these negotiations go through, my arsenal of information, firepower, and political connections is going to skyrocket. The truth is, Bolton has been a great place for me to expand my organization. I know you’ve been tracking me for a while now and to be honest, it’s been slowing my operations quite a bit. So, I want you to cancel that raid you have planned tonight on one of my outlets. If it happens, I will have a very nasty surprise waiting for you tomorrow morning. If you trust me and follow through, I will back off a bit. I hope you do as I say. From here on out, Boon, I am your biggest threat.” she crumpled the paper and tossed it aside. She leaned on the desk and placed her hands on her cheeks. She had never dealt with a threat like this in her 15 years working in the police department. What if Dancy did something terrible? The BPD has been trying to track Dancy down for six months and they’ve only collected a small amount of information. On the other hand, he could be bluffing in order to execute an important operation. She reached for the phone and dialed Sammy’s cruiser. “Hey, Chief. We are still working on getting the warehouse info.” Sammy explained. “Dancy left me a note. Someone got into the building. Listen to this.”  Boon read the note to Sammy. “He has to be bluffing. Pearce and I have been watching the streets for months. There is no way he can do anything big without us knowing. Just send in the drones instead just in case.”  said Sammy pulling into the parking lot of BPD. “We’re here. I’ll go to office right now.” Sammy and Jack exited the car and headed towards the building. “I’m going to Medical, after that I’m going to go pick up Dana from her job.” Jack said to Sammy as they entered the building. Sammy nodded. They separated. Sammy went to the elevator and Jack down the right hall to Medical.
