The Height of Moral Decadence and Mental Bankruptcy

The Panama Leaks, a moderate-intensity storm that shook the world a little. Nothing new really.., same old stories of corrupt politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen and others concealing their ill-gotten money in places other than their own countries. In certain cases the law permits such activities to avail some tax benefits where legal sources of funds can be duly established, otherwise they are illegal.  Some politicians have resigned in the wake of the Panama scandal while some managed to cleared their names. There is however a political family involved that is accused of stealing huge amounts of money from its country where it is currently in power. That is the family of the Pakistani Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

There was a full bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan formed to hear the notorious case where two of the honorable judges have already declared the Prime Minister as dishonest and being guilty of the crimes while the other three judges ordered further investigations to be conducted by a joint investigation team formed by the Supreme Court itself. The JIT must submit its report by the second week of July 2017. The Supreme Court will then decide the case in light of the report submitted by the JIT and some other facts which are now available to the entire world.

While there are criminal proceedings going on against the incumbent party head and his family. He, his two sons and his daughter however address the press conferences after the trial room visits as if they are some sort of glorified heroes. They wave hands at their supporters and the media like if they are defending their country and its people and not their own crimes. The charges filed against them are of theft, corruption and money laundering. Technically speaking, the charges could have been easily nullified by submitting the bank statements and income tax returns etc. which apparently do not exist.

That is not the point I want to make here. The woman, Maryam Safdar accused of stealing money from her country appears before the JIT and then comes out and delivers a fiery speech to the nation like as if she is their upcoming Prime Minister.

The media on the other hand praise her of how composed she was that her confidence level was high and that she has certainly scored some political points and has managed to garner fresh support from the Pakistani public etc. etc.

Even that is not the point I want to make. Media speak high of whoever pays the right price, at least some of them if not all. You can buy lobbyists who admire and present you as a maverick and superhuman in front of the world, nothing wrong with that for they are professional service providers, like lawyers who defend you knowingly that you are guilty. There are people who get direct or indirect benefits from the ruling mafia like ministers, public servants, media anchors, media houses and businessmen etc., so whatever they do is not right but at least they have a motive; Money. Their voters may still vote for them because most of them are illiterate and cannot comprehend the reality as such. What sounds good to them is what they view as a better option and their so called leaders as their messiah. They live below the human subsistence level and are kept there by their tormentors on purpose else if they wake up then who would vote for them?

Imagine the same alleged thieves and money launderers facing a similar trial in the civilized parts of the world….. What would you witness? The accused avoiding the media altogether… visible feelings of guilt on their faces… a very hostile group of media reporters waiting outside the courtroom and an angry and disgruntled public Now why all that, because they are accused of committing crimes and if exonerated they may revert back to their previous positions with aplomb.

The point is that those who are literate and follow certain code of ethics, perceive all this as some kind of political mileage and support that Maryam Safdar, the daughter of the PM has managed to garner and that she is successfully making her way forward as the future Prime Minister of Pakistan.?

That state of mind reveals utter decadence and moral depravity of our people whoever thinks that way.

Do you try to intercede for somebody in a case connected with Allah’s Prescribed Punishments?” Then he got up and delivered a sermon saying, “What destroyed the nations preceding you, was that if a noble amongst them stole, they would forgive him, and if a poor person amongst them stole, they would inflict Allah’s Legal punishment on him.

By Allah, if Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad stole, I would cut off her hand.”

Bukhari Vol. 4 : No. 681

What else can I add after this…..
