They say ghosts are all around, I don’t know if I believe it, But there’s corpse are right beside you, And you don’t even see it,

Look at the person standing next to you, Are they alive, or existing, Fully functional dysfunctional, Yet something is missing,

Maybe they had dreams, Maybe he had desire, But he deferred from them both, And watched em burn in the fire,

Now he just works, Make the money and spend it, Call it making a living, Living in a circle that’s never ending,

Now whats his purpose, Working hard for survival, He feels his soul is lost, So he never touches the bible,

Now how about his brother, The one you saw at the mall, Enslaved by material, High fashion and all, Working hard for his swagger, No concern for necessity, Bills rarely paid, Yet acquires clothing successfully,

A whole check on his shoes, Not a dime on the groceries, What happened in society, This isn’t how its supposed to be,

And what’s told of his dreams, I know he had desires, But he deferred from them both, And watched em burn in the fire,

No all he does is work, Make the money and spend it, Being flashy call it living, Living in a circle that’s never ending,

If you’re reading this poem, And you’re still alive and breathing, Don’t burn your dreams and die, Like the author of this poem you’re reading,
