I unravel my fist and open my palm to reveal the painful, bloody mark from my rugged nails. A soft whimper leaves my mouth and I wipe the sanguine substance on my white shirt. The other hand holds a stolen phone. It doesn’t work, but I didn't know that until I was halfway down the street. The only thing I can do is stare at the black abyss of the screen and pretend that I’m a lucid human being just like the rest of the people in the café.

The people are staring; they see me as a vulnerable, poisonous mistake. To add to the crippling anxiety, a group of mysterious men arrive. They lurk among the people like the devils of the possessed. They’ve come for me, to arrest me for what I’ve done.

They step towards me and I unleash a bloodcurdling screech. Frantic people scramble in fear as I plunge at the men. One by one, they release toxic shrieks that feed my anger and then the café turns into a slaughterhouse…

“Here’s your mocha, ma’am.” The barista sets a white cup next to me. I send him flustered smile and take a sip of my coffee.
