Provocative Enough?

In the year 2017 why are we being confronted with someone who seems to be, quite blatantly, trying to provoke a war? And not just any type of war either; he wants a nuclear one that will destroy the world and humanity, at least as we know it.

To appear on television saying he hoped the ‘yankees’ liked the 4thJuly gift he sent them – why? It’s clearly like waving a red rag in front of a bull, saying, “Okay, you don’t scare me! Do your best!” Has he pushed it further than is acceptable? Will the bull be so enraged that the small amount of tolerance he has will not be enough to stop a devastating reaction?

These are not toys, the weapons of today. Just one person over-stepping the line could lead to catastrophe, and we all have to face the fact that the line has been toed. Just one further step is all it’s going to take.

Of course, there’s a chance that we’ll never know what has hit us. Things can escalate almost instantly and the world could potentially be set on a course of destruction before we are even aware that anything is happening. Then again, maybe they’ll take that step backwards instead; the sheer joy and......gleefulness, shown by the provoker doesn’t lead me to believe that there’s much hope of that, though.

So what is the answer? I wish I knew. I wish somebody knew.....For now, I’m just going to wait and wonder – Are we about to become the victims of someone who, if not really crazy, is certainly acting as though he is.
