This poem is strange. I don't know how it came about.

Every day

I mixed the clay;

And bake it in the sun.

When that was done,

I shaped it like a man.

I attemted to make it come alive,

It stayed there lifeless;

And you only have to guess,

I've been there from 8 to 5.

''Wake up,'' I cried.

Still, I wasn't satisfied,

I shouted till my throat was sore;

And to tell you more,

I almost died.

There has to be another remedy,

I took the baked dust into the lab,

So heavy it was, I placed it on a slab.

Smooth and cold, I was told,

Was part of the mystery.

I softened it up, added milk,

A bit of grass, some fine silk.

Churned it round and round,

Then I heard a strange sound,

''I, I, I,I,I.''

I quickly cast it to set,

A few minutes later, I get

The feeling, I wanted to fly.

It was a foolish experiment,

So don't you ever try.
