This is a harsh reality for people such as myself. I truly hope however, that one day love will trump hate.

If you don't look like me or ever go through what I go through, then you could never understand what it is like to be me

Maybe one day walk a mile in my shoes

I was born with melanin in my skin

I had no choice

I didn't choose the skin that I'm in. It chose me.

Just like no one chooses to be shot down or murdered in the street like a rabid dog

Get your hands off of me

I'm screaming on the inside, "I Can't Breathe!"

I pray to God that this touches a heart

And people won't dismiss this without another thought

If they do then, I guess it is what it is

Blind eyes can never see the truth....
