Like Me……

The words are not coming; like the students I teach I have a blank stare.

Like them, like me.

The need for a routine and a list will help me to settle into the day.

We all wish to know what is expected and when the task is completed.

Like them, like me.

I can express myself but most of the time remain silent.

Like them, like me.

My communication is expressed through my hazel eyes and body movements.

Like them, like me.

I will tense up if the expectations are too great.

Like them, like me.

I can write more fluently than I can verbalize.

Like them, like me.

When I am extremely frustrated I will stomp and yell.

Like them, like me.

When I am valued I can be calm.

Like them, like me.

When I am judged I can become withdrawn.

Like them, like me, like us.
