I remember 1976 as an eight year old. I remember riding my bike with the other kids, on my way to school, no chaperone, just myself and the others, peddling non stop, our laughter being heard off into the distance. As I continue to peddle, I see kites high in the sky, teenagers on skateboards, young women wearing Jean shorts, the disco music in the background....
.....Long hair, Bell Bottoms, fluorescent shirts, Charlie's Angels and the Montreal Summer Olympics - I was surrounded by a time period like no other. I was a part of that time, I am a part of that time and will always will be a part of that time! My childhood innocence very much intact, is something that will remain with me forever... Perhaps time is only an illusion, a figmant of our imagination, but on the other hand, I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that my consciousness, is the only thing I can rely on that is truly real!
I look up from my computer and suddenly realize, the year is 2017. I am no longer that eight year old, no longer that carefree child on his bike, riding with the other children. I let out a gasp but, I have a smile on my face, as I hear Queen's, " You're my Best Friend" playing on the radio and I know that the year 1976 will always be forever with me, in both my mind and in my heart....

You've expressed the childhood nostalgia beautifully, Mark! Very poetic. I was actually born in 1976 ;)
