i am alone here

without even the storm to keep me company

sometimes the wind sighs against my skin

too tangled in my melancholy

to realize that the sadness in the air is not her own

im adrift

a thing always lost in the between

not what i was and yet

what am i now?

i am the transition

that forgot to finish changing

this is the end and there’s

no turning back

no pulling apart my seams to

try and rearrange myself

into even an illusion

of an entire person

im the sea spray of a rolling wave

that got lost along the way

ive forgotten how to find my way back home

but this view from the beach

is beautiful enough for now

maybe i can learn to be happy

in the sands that caught my fall
