I hadn't had any alcohol or drugs,

Nor lying on perfumed Persian rugs.

I was completely sober,

A no-drunk lover.

But I was drunk,

Only with love.

Laying in my bunk,

Staring at the ceiling above.

Love had gotten hold,

Had me trembling.

It was ''love'' I was told,

In the heart it was assembling.

Oh! Venus! what beautiful feeling this is,

To utter words that are true.

To partake of what is hers and his,

Blissfully fine, and not blue.

I'm drunk with love,

Staggering into open arms.

I'm drunk with love,

Triggering many heart-alarms.
