Losing someone that you love

 

Dad just sat and cried. He cried for three whole days. His face was blotchy and all red. Then on day, he just stopped… I didn’t understand why he stopped. He was hell bent on the fact the mum was murdered, but he wouldn’t just stop crying straight away.

I then decided to go and talk to him. I walked over to him and said, “Are you okay? You haven’t spoken to me for a while…” I thought to myself that he hasn’t spoken to me for four days, maybe he never will… I then suspected him to say nothing, and that’s what he wanted to do… stay silent. I then decided to make dinner, so I went to the kitchen and prepared dinner. Tonight, was making Dad’s favourite, lemon chicken and stir-fried veg. I put the chicken on and started to chop the veg. I then heard the radio go on… It was mum’s favourite song. Just making dinner reminded me of mum. I held back my tears and continued to chop the veg. Suddenly the knife slipped and cut my hand. I turned to where mum would have stood… Then remembered that mum was killed. I sank to the floor and trying not to cry, shut my eyes. The pain of remembering mum was to strong and I couldn’t hold in any longer, I just burst into tears. Dad came running and could tell straight away. This is what it is like to lose someone you love...
