“Hide and Seek”

We played some hide and seek

My sis and I had fun, you know

It lasted a whole week

But last time she did slip away

For longer than I could stand

I had been looking for a day

Much longer than we’d planned

Three days I’d been scanning ‘round

For clues of the unknown

But far too long she’d gone unfound

And so my chance was blown

For months my search went on and on

In spite of my mother’s worry

I worked non-stop from dusk ‘till dawn

In fog and flood and flurry

Finally my case is closed

I know that I’m right, mister

The answer that I’ve composed:

The dog did eat my sister
