It’s not what you think that brings me here—it’s not something innocent or natural or pure

It’s not what you think I must want or must feel; it’s nothing so solid—it’s nothing so real

Villainy wears often the guise of the meek, and poison flows thickly through veins of the sweet

Your foolhardy trust, secreted like waste, will be your undoing—will sour your face

The smile you give freely, I’ll soon wipe away; I’ll expose your kind heart to infernal decay

What purpose for this, what seek I to gain?

What reason have I for causing such pain?

It’s just not enough to have you so plain; you must be unbridled, unraveled, untamed

It’s not what you think that brought us here—it was nothing innocent or natural or pure

It’s not what I thought I would want or would feel; it’s something quite solid—it’s something too real
