"Emelia, please don't leave me." Asher cried as he gripped her always warm, delicate hand.
He knew it wouldn't be that way anymore.
"I have to. I can't stay here- because of the accident." Emelia panted, pressing her forehead to his chest.
Emelia was afraid: of the accident, her family, herself. But Asher, he was her safe place. And she had to leave him; it was the only way she could escape.
She eyed him as he handed her a brown paper bag with something heavy inside. It contained the key to her freedom.
"Here's what you asked for. Be free, my sweet Emmie." He kissed her soft nose one last time.
He knew that's what she loved, and she loved him.
And just like that, she ran into the full parking lot and pulled the trigger. She was released from fear, at last.
