Person A:
Monarchies work a lot more like people think they work than do democracies", says Person A.

Person B:

But it wasn't like that all the time. When people's understanding of monarchy's reality became close to reality is when monarchies were frantically, wrathfully rejected and displaced. There’s the need to be governed, but there also is the need to not know one is governed by other humans. There is the need to subordinate themselves to something, but also the need not to know what that something is (or to know it is an universal, not other humans).
There is the need to be under governance, but to know nothing true about such governance.
The system allowing for more effective deception and self-deception at a given time, that is the system that will win, and hold after it has won.
