Curtain Of Hair.

I’m hiding behind a curtain of hair,

don’t want you to see the face I have to wear.

It’s all imperfections, no beauty by far,

I feel any photo I surely would mar.

I can’t put my finger on what quite is wrong

but this need to keep hiding is really so strong.

I can’t fix it up no matter how I do try,

I hide behind make-up that makes me a lie.

There is something I’m needing to pull my hair back,

some kind of camouflage from torments attack;

do you know what I’m needing or must you ask,

for it’s really quite simple – I do need a mask.

Something to hide imperfections from prying eyes,

that lets me just wander while under disguise.

Until I can find one I’ll always be there,

hiding behind my safe curtain of hair.
