I awoke this morning broken hearted,

Perhaps I wanted more,

Like a crow with broken wings,

Wishing he could soar,

Confined to the ground,

longing for the sky,

black bird black bird,

you’re never going to fly,

to some I am the world,

yet to myself I’m worthless,

viewing the world through the bottom of my glass,

while pondering my purpose,

my poetry is life,

well at least it helps me cope,

but can it help me heal,

these wings of mine that broke,

what if this is my purpose?

poetically reflecting pain,

to comfort broken readers,

who also feel the same,
