A collaboration between Hullaballo22 and myself:

Looking back in time, to when I thought I knew

it all. I said things, I did things, and I regret a few

In the mirror, a reflection of regret I see

if I could somehow warn the younger me,

I'd tell him don't be so absolute, it's never black

and white, nothing's absolute; there's so many things I'd take back,

hurtful things, because I was so sure I was right

I used to be blind, truth hidden from my sight

Now, the memories stab from the after dark,

long after midnight, they leave their mark

The memories come thick and fast,

all these things I did wrong in the past.

But looking back now, things I’d change,

I’d take that step, I’d re-arrange

my former self to change me now...

The problem is I don’t know how!

These thoughts and memories love the night

for those are the hours when it’s so hard to fight.
