Darkness fills the room,

And so I light this candle,

The wall bestows my silhouette,

The flames flicker makes it brandle,

On I turn my radio,

And low I set the tune,

Through my curtain, peers the light,

The sun lent to the moon,

The rain pours against the roof,

Intertwined with thunder,

Lightning briefly illuminates my room,

And in my mind I wonder,

How long will this last,

My mind now at ease,

As I watch the shadows of the leaves,

While they dance in the breeze,

Perhaps for maybe an hour,

I can indulge this sentiment,

Inspired by the low roar of the thunder,

So poetically intimate,

Free from the stress of the world,

Just one moment alone,

My spiritual place,

My element….my zone,
