It’s dark

It’s cold!

It’s made its mark

Its motive, told

It’s after me

It’s grasping

Claws like a tree

Voice, that’s rasping

I’ll hide

I’ll run!

It’ll glide

It’ll come!

I’m scared

I’m hurt

I’m ensnared

I’m alert

The closet, I ran!

The door, I locked!

To the back, I began

There, I rolled and rocked

The door banging

The door swung open

There, hanging

The darkness, it’s spoken

It came to me

With gentleness

Before, I didn’t see

It wasn’t evilness

The image changed

And there it stood

Someone estranged!

Someone in a hood

The hood curled back

I gasped in fear

All in black

My end was near

The figure before me

The darkness, hatred, madness, evil, but yet, so free!

As far as I could see

Was me.
