Moving too quick often burns more bridges than it builds

Forgive me as I falter.

Holding gently to my face,

The remembrance of something lost

Brought down by my disgrace.

Once I was too quick to speak

Only once was I too haste.

Yet tiny words misspoken proved

A terrible mistake.

I broke our brittle communication

I spoke loud in the dark,

Hoping for your trust to earn,

I instead hurt the spark.

And now your walls are up too high.

I cannot overcome.

Oh what a terrible thing to speak

What is better left unspoken!
