Train Reading Matter

When we travel from
work back home,
we divert our minds from
our daily drudges by reading.
Preferably, about the lives
we long for but don’t live ourselves,
devouring books about
loving girls in bikinis
on sandy beaches beside azure seas.
So different from the dusty, dull marriages
and responsible wives, who
do know our weaknesses.
We picture ourselves in heroic
attempts to thwart an antagonist with
a masturful ruse;
when in real life, we get outwitted
by a dull boss.
We read about spies, soldiers, sleuths,
who make the world go around; whereas
we travel around the world on that
one stretch of track.
