Mercy to my soul

Value for my life,

Control that I can hold

And kindness by my side.

Serotonin for my brain

Amnesia for my mind,

Something I can claim,

Grasp and call it mine.

Peace inside my heart;

Rancor out of me,

Self-esteem that sets apart

From what others say I’d be.

Love that can embrace me

Tenderly and kind,

And that can erase

All the thoughts that are malign.
