Writing Wrong.

When it comes to writing, my confidence is shot;

will this word say what I mean or will it really not.

I can’t straighten out my meanings, I can’t think what to say,

my vocabulary is on strike, or so it seems today.

I’ll type out just one sentence, delete and start again,

I never thought that writing would get riddled with such pain.

Maybe this is better; I’ll read it soft, I’ll read it strong;

anyway I look at it, it all just sounds so wrong.

The words, it seems, are failing me, the ones inside my head,

a muddled, jumbled train of thought, can’t hold on to the thread.

I’ll brew up some strong coffee, try to wake my mind

and then perhaps the words I want will be easier to find.
