The flower passed beyond the moon

For the moon had nothing more to say.

She cried until a midnight touch

And then shyly walks away.

Too soon the teardrops melt on flesh

As raindrops, due, on sand

In dreams they melt together, still

As a hand upon a hand.

A candle's flame is most intense

When swallowed by the night

It may be true and rightly said

But that doesn't make it right.
