Predictably, you run to me, when the coast is clear and no one else is near; you expect I will always be right here to clean up your mess, and patch up your pride

You’re exhausting and spoiled, and you wear me out daily; it’s a shock you haven’t drowned in the lakes of your tears

What’s your major malfunction? How can I fix you for good?

It’s a waste of time and energy for me to keep picking you up, especially if you insist on falling again

Don’t you get it by now? They can’t be trusted—not a one, not at all

Betrayal seeps through the blood, and they’re all diseased underneath

But you refuse to see reason, no matter how much you hurt; it’s not bravery, but stupidity, that keeps you crawling back to me

And what am I but a saint, to have the patience to deal with you?

And what are you but a fool, without a prayer, without a clue

Do you really think I’m in this for the drama, for the game?

Do you only think I live to simply soothe away your pain?

Should not I care to see you smile? Should not I prefer your laughter to your tears?

If only you could see what’s been in front of you all this time, for all these years…
