A collaboration between Hullabaloo22 and myself:

Batten down the hatches; as Betty Davis said, "It's going to be a bumpy night'

Impending, self-inflicted disaster is waiting to steal the colors from our sight

Waiting to pounce, waiting to crush; unbearable weight hangs over our head,

we're past the tipping point, it'll come crashing down of it's own volition, fed

by misguided power-morons pushing bullshit lies down our throats,

and some who buy the cuisine; 'prepare the boats!

get ready to abandon ship!' the good ship 'America's' going down,

and taking the SS World down with it, we all are going to drown

Maybe there’s a lifeboat but how many will it fit,

and if it is inflatable it is certain to be crammed so full, to split

as everyone scrabbles and grabs some part to hold on tight,

any compassion and fellow-feeling is now lost to the fight.

Survival of the fittest? No! The false and bare-faced tricksters, yes!

The rest of us flounder in the sea until we are pulled under, I guess.

Flotsam and jetsam, that’s all that will be washed ashore, on sand,

for they don’t want any doubters to be living on their land.
