"Strong"

I sit on my knees,
Sobbing into the open air...
One hand holding tight to a handful of my hair,
The other flexed on the ground.
I cry through silver eyes,
My tears staining my cheeks,
Leaving trails of their life.
My head is bowed,
Hair providing a curtain to my face.
My shoulders wrack with each wave of tears.
I've lost my control,
The buffer on my emotions broken down....

But I don't have time to cry.
I suck in deep breathes, tears still streaming down my cheeks.

"I'm okay."
I whisper to myself and I actually convince myself I am.
I press my hand harder onto the floor and grip my hair tighter...

"I am strong"
I murmur....

And I get up,
To begin the day anew....

....I may be broken....
.... but I am yet to shatter.
