Distance

That space,

those miles,

helpless when it comes to

beating smiles.

Transmissions,

alert we keep,

fingertips typing words,

we speak.

Vertigo

can set it slow,

mindful of distance

but I’m here, you know.

Connected,

enmeshed,

entwined

to withstand any test.

I breathe you in,

you breathe me out,

eternally

you are all about.

Forget the distance,

miles to sand,

I’m reaching now

to hold your hand.

So close together,

I’ve had to find

that distance is just

a state of mind.
