Freedom’s road.

Does  my life path lie in the hands of another,

Or does  my destiny lie with me,

Do the stars map out  my future,

Or am I truly free?

How free am I to chart my course,

To run  afoul of fate,

To march boldly up freedom’s road,

And distribute  my own estate?

Or am I a slave to history,

And to what has come before,

Do forces unseen by human kind,

 Open each  and every door?

Can my actions be excused by circumstance,

Or are my consequences my own?

Is my future determined by my past,

Or  do I make my  choices alone?

Perhaps  the answer lies between,

The past explains the immanent,,

For in ways my past explains my actions,

But they are also self examinant.
