Remember those new shoes that were always too tight, you know, when you were a kid? Well this is one boys story about that.

Slew-foot Lew is a lace-less shoe

That doesn't have a brother.

He had one once, but he's such a dunce,

Now I cannot find the other.

So Mom took me out, out and about,

And bought a brand-new pair.

They don't feel right; they are much too tight,

But Mom doesn't seem to care (?).

She says they'll wear in, in time is when,

They'll feel better than Slew-foot Lew

But I doubt that's right, these shoes so tight.

Oh no, --- my feet are turning blue.

So I ask my brother and my other brother,

"Is there a way to relieve this pain?"

They untied the laces then asked with those faces,

"Why did you tie them, --- are you insane?"
