Let me tell you about the day I knew my life was not in my control but in control by an outsider. It was an average day, soft wind, cool air and the smell of the fresh flowers. The school year was coming to an end, everyone happy to be released out of the cage we call high school. Near the end of the school day there was a odd shift in my mood, all of a sudden I felt threatened. Scared out of my mind I decided to leave school and walk home. I take that walk every day to and from school but today there was something different. The roads were dead, not a single car or pedestrian walking or driving on them. But I kept going walking faster and faster almost to where I was at a full Sprint, and then I saw a black pickup truck drive by at an oddly slow speed. I stopped looking in to the truck trying to make eye contact with the drive but it was as if the driver had no eyes at all. The short time it takes me to walk home felt like an eternity, felt like this world I was in was moving at a very slow rate. When I got to my house and opened my front door a gust of wind hit me almost knocking me over. I got scared ran up to my room slammed my door and locked it. I jumped in my bed quivered in fear and then I was out like a light. When I arose from my slumber it was almost midnight. I keep thinking about the day I had and if it was over or not or if it was even real. To keep mind off of it I got on to a online chat room, and started talking to one of my favorite texting buddies. His name was Marcos but I called him Marco because he always repeated himself. I told him about the day I've had and how bizarre it was, he kept telling me it was just a figment of my imagination and that it was all fake. Of course I knew he was right but something deep inside me told me to not believe him, but I kept telling myself I've trusted him for months now why change. In the middle of one of our conversations the atmosphere changed out of nowhere, the wind was blowing hard, the air felt non-existent, and the smell of flowers change to the smell of sulfur. When I texted Marco again he didn't reply so I texted him again nothing as if he disappeared. All of a sudden I heard a creek on my hardwood floors, I freaked out started frantically texted Marco. After about 5 minutes he replied back saying that he accidentally dozed off. The creek got harder and louder freaking me out even more. Marco kept telling me everything will be ok it's just your house settling. But this time I didn't believe, something in me said there's someone here. And I was in right, the creeks stopped at my door. I text Marco more and more but he doesn't believe me. Everything got really quite so I decided to stand up and check, but when I did the thing at my door started screaming my name "Haley! Haley! Haley!" I screamed jumped back and told Marco what's going on. He told me to give him a video call so I did. The ringing of the call just made it worse but when he answered it faded away as if it didn't happen. I sat up with Marcos talking to him and trying to relax. After about an hour he left the screen and all of a sudden the noise came back "Haley! Haley! Haley! Haley!" Almost repeating itself as if it was a scratched record. A second later Marco was back in the noise dissipated off. I told him what happened and I asked if it was him but he denied it saying that "I live 3000 miles away how could it be me." I decided test it out I told him to walk behind his laptop, and when he did it the noise came back "Haley! Haley! Hale!" This time Marco heard it he got back in from the camera sorry telling me to call the police but I knew I couldn't I knew if I did something bad would happen.A few hours past we tested it over and over again same thing occurred. You kept telling me that this isn't the life I should be living another is only one way for this all to stop. Out of nowhere Marcos walked off the noise came back much louder this time and scratching at my door. I kept screaming and creating from Marcos to come back but he never did, and about a couple minutes later the noise stopped. I kept calling for Marco wondering where he went, but I fell asleep. When I woke up the next morning and left my room I saw the claw marks on the door and blood as though it scratched so hard it drew blood. I went downstairs has it was nothing and I saw something that I would never forget, Marco hung in the middle of my living room. I walked over and found a note on his chest, the note read "I will never repeat again".
