Scene-Two girls named Nina & Annie about to enter college are on their way to the grocery story, chatting and talking about colors in general.

" So when we are born, we see the first color i.e white of the light'-said Nina to her friend Annie. She further continued - 'It gets unconsciously registered in our mind and  in our mother's mind as a symbol of hope, then we are further taught in school that white doves flying over other countries is a symbol of hope, that peace has finally come. But Annie i don't think of it as so INSTEAD white makes us blind to the false ray of hope. The stereotype that there is something bigger to control us, you just have to keep her/him offering things like the white milk on certain days as set by the priests that are very knowledgeable according to the religion then blessings would come over us.A kind of barter system.' With this came the satirical reply of Annie- 'are they'

They both somewhat stared in each others eye's as a moment of silence befriended them. Then Annie observed something "the shining black eyes" of her companion.Sure this made her remember her past- All the hidings in the dark basement, when parents used to fight on trivial things(which at that moment seemed so important to resolve) We all have an ego which has to be satisfied and as the theory of cognitive dissonance goes- " IF SOMEONE QUESTIONS OUR HARDCORE BELIEFS WITH FACTS AND FIGURES, WE BECOME MORE CONVINCED THAT THE BELIEFS ARE TRUE AND JUST IGNORE THE EVIDENCE AGAINST IT." Sure EGO is a big thing it does not even help us to be in a peaceful mind, how can we be so sure that others will help us when we are not able to understand ourselves? This is where perception comes in.A single perception can have many colors, as human beings we have the right to be happy, so should we choose the happy side by being numb to the pain?

Pain made Annie remember about the dark classrooms- those locked rooms where she was standing all alone in a group of sitting seniors. Her mind just dreads the color black, it makes her numb to the joys of life. But then fate plays a role,as if some mystical power  had captured Nina over  mind and she could read Annie's mind- 'what about black?' Annie starting to reply just got stuck in words. Seeing her Nina replied- " I Think it is black which has true power, when we play a game of blindfold it is the surrounded blackness that helps us to go from our comfort zone to reach for others despite even knowing what harm may come. It is that adrenaline rush that we crave for that we play the game so often.I Think such turbulent times build a great person." Annie was having an astonished look on her face, but Nina continued- "You know the gods, that's how people treat other people who are the champions of their fields, are nothing more than mere risk takers, who have the gut to take calculated risks."

Annie cleared her throat and was looking at Nina in complete dazzlement. She reflected on what made her stand there as a person, it was all the pain that made her strong but still she mocks it,runs from it.She now started to look from a different perspective from a new approach. Yes she had finally realized a truth. The power of different colors of a perception. she was just focusing on the negativity but her friend was looking the color black from a whole different perspective. It's how we see the world that makes us happy or sad,how we perceive it is always in our hands. It's our choice

As they were both walking down the street to buy the daily essentials they were approached by a beggar who looked in his mid 70's,supporting himself on his crutches he begged for some food,Nina was just disgusted at the site of him and rushed forward forcefully, pushing Annie too who was helping him. SURE AS TAUGHT TO HER HE MIGHT BE A POTENTIAL THREAT. Rapes are on the rise who knows. Further Nina continuing her talk on colors went on- "I JUST LOVE THIS BLUE SKY,THE SMELL OF TULIPS,IT IS ALL SO REFRESHING" Annie observed and just ignored her remark, she was in her own world now, which made Nina's face red with shame. Though she had bookish knowledge, her application of those eccentric thoughts were still naive. Still craving for social acceptability, which is a must for human beings. Annie was just observing her friend and got to know the difference between what it really means to say and apply it in the real world.

Annie walked the whole way alone, now just in her thoughts, she did not even remembered when her friend Nina had said goodbye. Some of the colors are hardwired in us red for shame, black for fear and depression. But is red really for shame? or can it be just looked as a normal color, a symbol which forces you to work even harder. The bull runs for red,so shouldn't you give in with all your might, the real hard work for art. Rather than watching television in a sub-division always complaining about the one who is living the life you want to live, saying he was lucky instead of ignoring his/her hard work. I get it we as humans tend to project our fears on others, and ridicule them to satisfy our ego. But the real question is how far will it take you in life.

Rather than to look this extremely short journey of 30,000 days know as life as a gift,we tend to waste it for trivial pursuits, trivial conversations, mocking others and being content with average, doing average things, always choosing the easy path. we all can have a colorful perception on life if we just change the -ve beliefs in us which do more harm to others and ourselves rather than good. a world will be a better place my friend just CHANGE your perception.

Though Annie had reached her home too,she was not the same person that went out from the home an hour before. A MORE CONTENDED PERSON WITH LIFE
