In an artist’s frame

The two sides of my face

Are not the same

Yet swollen shows the art

That yet so many

Cannot take a purposeful part

Part pain, part cosmetic

Show shame and hide pain

Aesthetics allows pathetic

People allow you pity

Yet harbour disgust

Like an inner city, ugly but pretty

One lives with the care

Of a swollen heart

That’s hard to share

Yet hearts glide

Towards to swollen face

To take a side

Hide but show and tell

Show is not a choice

All ends swell
